To be an unassailable worker they must have a sound conformation so that they can carry out the long and enduring activity encompassed in a working day. Aurorafire Border Collies are bred with these characteristics in mind.
A typical Border Collie life span is about 12-15 years. As a result care must be taken in choosing the perfect puppy that best suits you and your family. Adult Border Collies need plenty of exercise which can include swimming, running beside owner or push bike, brisk walks or playing with the ball. A puppy, provided that it receives the right diet, applicable amounts of rest and exercise periods, stimulation, training and social contact should mature into a sound, healthy and well adjusted adult dog.
It is recommended that your new addition to the family attends puppy school as it establishes the foundation of training and social stimulation with people and other dogs. It forms the bases of your relationship with your new border and reaffirms its position within the family pack. It also enables you to have an obedient dog which is a pleasure to own.
Border Collies can be very tolerant with small children, although it is wise that this particular form of social interaction is established whilst your dog is still a puppy under adult supervision. Attention must be given to inform children in the correct method of playing with a puppy to avoid any mishaps.
